Maria de los Angeles Garcia

Maria de los Angeles Garcia is a Public Health Analyst with the HRSA/Bureau of Health Workforce/Division of Regional Operations (DRO) in Seattle Region 10. DRO provides regional support for BHW programs; in particular, BHW program promotion in conjunction with HRSA partners, National Health Service Corps (NHSC) participant support, conducting NHSC site visits, and reviewing NHSC site applications and re-certifications. Maria is currently the Alaska and Idaho State Lead. She has been with HRSA Region 10 for 29 years and has worked as a Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) Project Officer, Office of Performance Review (OPR) Analyst and Office of Regional Operations (ORO) Analyst. Prior to joining HRSA, Maria’s career has included a number of HRSA funded organizations, a private foundation, the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction Migrant Education Program, and the Veterans Administration. Her professional/personal life’s work has included enhancing access to health care for special populations, language access and cultural competency, and health workforce development.
