Wendy has been with Shoshone Family Medical Center since 2016 as a psychotherapist and behavioral health consultant. She received her undergraduate BS at Boise State University in Criminal Justice Administration, Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University, and a Masters in Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University (NNU). She has specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and in Sexual Behaviors, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, Primary Care Behavioral Health Model (using Focused Acceptance Commitment Therapy), and extensive training in Play Therapy. Wendy also has experience in assessing and treating substance use disorders.

Integrated Behavioral Health Strategies for Latinx Population in Primary Care

This workshop will present information from Behavioral Health Consultants who are currently providing integrated behavioral health services in different primary care clinics, who are Bicultural. The presentation will include a brief overview of the history and demographics of Latinos in Idaho, identify persistent challenges faced by the Latino community when accessing and receiving care. Presenters will provide considerations and key factors for working with Latinos, as well as recommendations and interventions related to the delivery of integrated behavioral health services in the primary care setting.
