Full job description

The Front Desk Clerk is the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in ensuring a welcoming, organized, and efficient clinic experience. This position is responsible for patient reception, scheduling, registration, and administrative support while maintaining compliance with confidentiality and clinic policies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Courteously answers calls, forwards to appropriate team members, and accurately documents messages.
  • Provides a wide variety of administrative and operational support for other team members as needed.
  • Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations.
  • Know emergency procedures and assist guests and management as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Ability: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Spanish desired; English Mandatory
  • Mathematical Ability: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles with the ability to provide in-depth explanations to patients.
  • Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook. Ability to learn Electronic Health Record. Ability to learn additional software programs as indicated.
