They are worried about catching the disease, worried if they have the disease, or afraid of dying from it. It could also be that they lost a job and are experiencing stress‐related symptoms like stomach problems or headaches. They are losing their social support just when they need it the most. Previous methods of self‐care and coping with life’s stresses are no longer accessible, leaving people vulnerable and at risk. As health care professionals, we are the front line and we are the first place that they call or go to for guidance. Here are some steps that you can take to bring hope and calm.
